2do lugar 2022 Int Juried Competition "Animal" / Runner-up Prize

Este premio lo otorga Art Show International Gallery, y se llama en este caso 2022 International Juried Art Competition 4º Animal, porque es la cuarta edición de la competencia de animalistica, que realizan cada 3 meses aproximadamente. Un jurado selecciona un primer lugar, 2 o 3 segundos lugares o runner-up prizes, y luego los ganadores de Merit Award, Talent Award, Menciones de honor y finalistas. (Yo he tenido ya la oportunidad de ganar el Talent Award en 2 oportunidades, y también una mención de honor). / This award is granted by Art Show International Gallery, and in this case it is called 2022 International Juried Art Competition 4º Animal, because it is the fourth edition of the animalistic competition, which is held approximately every 3 months. A jury selects a first place, 2 or 3 runner-up prizes, and then the winners of Merit Award, Talent Award, Honorable Mentions and finalists. (I have already had the opportunity to win the Talent Award twice, and also an honorable mention).

En esta ocasión la obra premiada se titula "Entre jacintos y lavanda" y es un óleo de 40 x 50 cm sobre canvas. Este es el gato de una amiga muy querida y estaba descansando en su jardín. Yo adapté el fondo utilizando colores complementarios al pelaje del sujeto, y agregando unas flores en estilo abstracto. Disfruto mucho de este contraste entre realismo más clásico y fondos abstractos, para destacar el sujeto. / On this occasion, the winning work is entitled "Between Hyacinths and Lavender" and is a 40 x 50 cm oil on canvas. This is a very dear friend's cat and it was resting in her garden. I adapted the background using complementary colors to the subject's fur, and adding some flowers in an abstract style. I really enjoy this contrast between more classic realism and abstract backgrounds, to highlight the subject.
